Epic MyChart and Ambulatory
Overview
I worked at Epic for almost 5 years, working on key projects from 2 applications as a lead researcher, designer, and strategist.
I worked specifically on Ambulatory Results and Trending, Ambulatory Health Maintenance, MyChart Health, and MyChart Scheduling.

Here are some of my favorite projects.
MyChart Integration with Apple Health
Timeline: 2 weeks from Apple's announcement to app store
​
Objective: Create integration with apple health, including integrating current web-only Track My Health into mobile app.
​
Team: Matt, Jon, Jesse, Stephanie, Grace, and me
​
My role: Project Manager, UX researcher/designer, QA
UX methods used: Internal testing, Group design, Interviews, Persona usage (primary and secondary), user flows, user testing (remote and on-site)
Coolest part: Teaching Apple about healthcare and nuances in certain vitals
Craziest part: Working with developers at their apartment at midnight to meet deadline
MyChart eCheck-in
Timeline: 4 months (2 for web, 2 for mobile)

Objective: Create experience for patients to fill out paperwork online prior to getting into the office.

Team: Amanda, William, Theresa, Alli, Jon, Stephen, and me

My role: UX researcher/designer, QA
UX methods used: Interviews, Persona usage (primary and secondary), user flows, user testing (remote and on-site)
Coolest part: Creating the wizard navigation bar and the checkbox-to-button UI pieces
Craziest part: Integrating mobile optimized web pages into native mobile app (so many restrictions!)
Ambulatory Growth Charts Redesign
Timeline: 6 months

Objective: Redesign growth charts to match actual pediatrician workflows.

Team: Brad, Andrew, Abinav, and me

My role: UX researcher, QA
UX methods used: Interviews, Persona creation and usage, user testing (remote)
Coolest part: Dissecting variations of data point tooltips (so many!)
Craziest part: Constant scope and priority changes
MyChart Plan of Care
Timeline: 6 months+

Objective: Create a plan of care for patients to help them navigate how they should be optimizing their health.

Team: Roland, Matt, various developers, Alli, Brittany, me
​
My role: Project Manager, UX researcher, QA
UX methods used: Group design, A/B testing, user testing (on-site and remote), user interviews, preference testing,
Coolest part: Working with basically every part of MyChart to create dashboard-like health experience
Craziest part: Constant scope, developer, and priority changes; ultimately switching project to new homepage project
